The Performing Arts Club

Scenkonstklubben (The Performing Arts Club) currently has presence in four Jönköping County municipalities. It started by JONK! Performing Arts carrying out a community project with the Portuguese artist collective Casa Branca. They produced the theatre performance Trigger of Happiness together with 17 young people from Nässjö. The participants then continued to meet to develop in the performing arts, both as practitioners, organisers, and cultural workers. 

We need more groups of dedicated young people, future cultural ambassadors, on and around the stages, as well as in the audience. In order for Scenkonstklubben to continue to develop, JONK! applied for regional funding along with dance developers at Culture and Development, Region Jönköping County. The funds are handled by directors of the regional National Theatre Association, which also contributes part of the funding. The plan is to increase the number of performing arts clubs over three years. 

The steering group is composed of an employed coordinator, dance developers at Region Jönköping County, the operational manager of National Theatre Jönköping County, and the project manager of JONK! Performing Arts.

The project owner is the National Theatre Jönköping County.
